    We've just noticed that the tags are potentially wrong (or I've been following the wrong labelling?) We refer to the top pond as the inlet, which geographically is the observation closer to the slade. However, the pictures have them labelled the opposite way round.

    Fisher said that the black material floating on surface in 5 to 10 cm diameter patches was "soot". He said that every spring it comes off the bottom of the lake and floats to the top; something he has seen on his underwater fishing camera. 4 Kayakers around
