    Longbridge Mill by Jacqui Bean

    Beautiful and banded Demoiselle along with a Mayfly. Willow branches full with leafy green leaves dangling in the water. Black cap heard nearby along with other birds.

    Lots of cow parsley blocking up the brook - had to take machines home as the phosphate meter was out of battery

    Longbridge Mill by Jacqui Bean

    Water flow is light and the clarity is quite clear, but bottom of the river is murky with green algae on river bed. Lots of river fly activity (Mayfly and Black winged Demoiselles), a variety of different bird song heard. Weeping willow in full foilage.

    Water flow quite gentle. Water clarity is murky/cloudy. Lots of different bird song heard, none seen.

    Depth 1cm above bottom step. Considerable dog dipping adding to already extensive erosion of the bank. It was a bank holiday and it was difficult to get water sample without churn from swimming dogs.

    Water depth 1.5cm above bottom step.

    Longbridge Mill by Jacqui Bean

    Testing site is within 2m of a busy 50 mph road. The test was conducted on a bridge from a pathway running parallel to this road. The testing pot was lowered into the water (1.5m drop approx.). Silver Birch Tree overhanging the water providing protection for smaller birds which were heard but not seen.

    Water cloudy, lot of suspended sediment, gravel just visible, gentle flow. Reeds and plants broken down and collapsed on both sides of riverbank.

    Clear water, steady flow. Water level just covering lowest dog dipping step by 1cm.

    Phosphate not sure all powder in vial. River water light amber colour when seen in white pot. Take photo next time.
