  • 31 January 2026

Ridge Road West above Beamer's Falls by 1st NG RoVents Bromley

Very cold weather after heavy snow. Newly fallen tree on the ice upstream of the bridge (original sampling location). Skating and/or skiing use of the frozen-over creek visible as well. Water was visible on downstream (falls) side but no sample could be taken safely. Large bank of snow next to the railing on that side made it impossible to get close enough. Some photos of the falls taken from downstream shoreline rather than bridge.

  • 30 January 2026

Maplewood Park Footbridge by Peggy Cline

Very cold weather conditions. Water flowing under bridge over rocks but frozen as the water flow slows. Some nature debris on ice. Water level low, testing cup not able to be fully submersed.

Concerns
Through this program, citizen scientists play a vital role in collecting data for baseline water chemistry and on key contaminants, including PFAS, nutrients, and chloride (road salts) for the Lake Erie basin. By addressing critical gaps in regional water quality data, the project supports innovative pilot programs to develop and refine new monitoring methods.
Intended audience
Our community, Government and decision makers
Intended use
Benchmarking of water body or watershed health, Share and compare results across watersheds., Education and engagement of local communities, Use in resource prioritization and decision making
