    Canada geese and hooded mergansers spotted in the water nearby the testing location.

    Various wildlife tracks around the water. Rabbit, squirrel and I believe Coyote (or dog, but no human tracks anywhere near them, other than mine of course, but could have been an exploring dog off the leash far from owner I suppose)

    Short Hills Provincial Park - Black Walnut Trail bridge by Mitchell Demers

    Blue jays and squirrels heard nearby the testing points. Downy woodpeckers and chickadees seen further up the trail from testing location.

    Creek was frozen but lake only had maybe 75 Meters out,then open water . We found deer tracks on rail and maybe dog or coyote tracks along Easterly shore towards boat dock. Not a winter maintained road so might not be abole to accress down hill if winter keeps up. I do not have a ICE /ON /OFF at the end of my data page so will need to enter here ICE /OFF

    It was cloudy ,lightly snowing,wind was SW 15 KPH. Temp outside was -7*C .Weather the day before was about the same as above. We drove around the corner from test site to check for ICE /On /Off. Ice was ON in Rondeau Bay (Shrewsbury) My web page does not show entry spot listed as email shows for ICE/ON/OFF data.

    This section of the river is completely ice covered. Multiple snowmobiles riding on the river’s ice and snow surface. Did not attempt to chop/drill through the ice.

    The gate was locked at the entrance way, I was able to walk around the locked gate. Water was ice covered I was able to break the ice wearing my rubber boots.

    North of St Catharines Marina by Jessica Palombo

    St. Catharines Marina closed for winter so took sample north of the Marina. Some debris on the shoreline. Used throw bucket to take sample.

Concerns
Through this program, citizen scientists play a vital role in collecting data for baseline water chemistry and on key contaminants, including PFAS, nutrients, and chloride (road salts) for the Lake Erie basin.
