    MOSQUITO CREEK by Blue Sky School

    It was a nice, clear blue sky afternoon with relatively warm weather. Some nice sunshine was coming in from my seating position. There was vegetation growing all around as green grass grew up the shorelines and occasional patches of moss grew but mostly on rocks. At the bottom in the water was slimy and murky, super easy to slip on and I could not see to the bottom. There were occasional flee gaggles around the water that made buzzing noises. There was some mushrooms growing on some fallen trees along the shoreline. The current was fairly come except it grew stronger in the rapids. There was some trash hidden in the rocks, I found a Styrofoam cup and a water bottle.

    Ravine Park by Blue Sky School

    It was a clear and sunny day with partial clouds. We noticed (and cleaned) a lot of food waste and packaging along the shore. Water level was not particularly high despite rain. The water was crystal clear today and the current was fast and strong (made shapes in sand). Starting to see green shoots of things (grasses greening up). Some new trees have been planted and are up to medium height now. We encountered some cute, little Minos in the water. Some moss patches were growing along the shore. Based on this trip, in the future we will be looking at the depth and doing some research on invasive species in our area.

    A chilly April morning! We noticed the geese had returned to the river and lots of ice chunks floating downstream.

    A beautiful snowy day. We observed that the water was frozen around the edges of the shore. We also noticed that the middle of the river was not frozen and was flowing rapidly.
