Columbine Culvert Downstream by John Coates

Great Blue Heron (Hank!) was startled from his fishing of the 'weary' spawning 2024Coho (Nov.2-Dec.27+) He immediately flew away as I approached and I didn't see anymore fish in this reach of the Creek. note: 24 Coho seen in Swan Cr. this year > best in 3 past >> main stem Colquitz (anecdotally) saw 400! Water Quality and Creek flow levels very good for these spawners.

    Bob's Bridge by John Coates

After witnessing active spawning of Coho Nov.2- Dec.18/24 , a few remaining 'weathered' fish are swimming with their last energy. One was here at Bob's bridge. Passersby are full of questions re: the spawning habits etc. AND amazement that they are here in THIS creek!
