- Location description
- The stream runs along the edge of Manor Fruit Farm in Normandy, originating from springs that come off the Hogs Back (a chalk ridge). The testing point was about 20m upstream from the Elmgrove Lane bridge over the stream. It is quite a steep bank down into the stream, but is usually accessible and in winter the water is higher so easier to reach. On this date, the water was flowing very slowing and was very shallow. The surrounding soil type is a heavy clay. The land-use in the immediate vicinity is amenity land to the north with a bit of woodland and scrubland to the south.
