WaterWorks Nitrate/Nitrite Test Strips
This parameter is part of the newly defined UK National Protocol as part of CaSTCo. This description is preliminary and will be updated shortly.
Test strips can provide an easy way of establishing an approximate level of the concentration of certain parameters. The data can be used for ‘screening’ that is – are results ‘low’, ‘medium’ or ‘high’ and/or has something changed significantly since you last tested at this spot.
These WaterWorks test strips detect Nitrate (NO3) and Nitrite (NO2) both expressed as N (Nitrogen) in mg/L
Test procedure:
1. Remove one test strip from the container and replace the lid
2. Dip test strip into your water sample for 2 seconds without motion
3. Remove the strip
4. Wait 1 minute
5. Match to the colour chart on the pot – when holding the strip at the end furthest from the pads, NitrIte will be closest to your fingers and NitrAte furthest away
