Portable turbidimeter
A portable turbidimeter measures how cloudy or murky water is, which indicates the amount of suspended particles. To use it, a water sample is first collected in a clean, clear vial, making sure there are no bubbles or fingerprints on the glass. The vial is then placed inside the turbidimeter. The device shines a light through the sample and detects how much light is scattered by the particles. The result, shown in nephelometric turbidity units (NTU), gives a quick and reliable measure of water clarity.
