LaMotte (dissolved oxygen in mg/L)
Always read and follow the instructions that come with the equipment. To test dissolved oxygen using the LaMotte kit, first fill the sample bottle completely with your water sample, avoiding air bubbles. Add the first two reagents (usually numbered 1 and 2) directly into the bottle, cap it, and shake gently. A cloudy or coloured precipitate will form if oxygen is present. Add reagent 3 to dissolve the precipitate, creating a clear yellow colour. Pour a measured amount into the test tube, then add drops of titration solution while swirling until the colour changes from yellow to clear. The number of drops used tells you the dissolved oxygen level in mg/L.
