IDEXX Tecta
The IDEXX Tecta method is an automated way to test for E. coli in a water sample, often used in small labs or on-site setups. A measured amount of water is poured into a special Tecta sample pouch containing a growth medium. The pouch is sealed and placed into the Tecta instrument, which automatically heats, incubates, and monitors the sample. If E. coli is present, the system detects changes in colour or fluorescence and gives a digital result in a few hours. This method helps quickly confirm E. coli levels without needing constant manual checks or lab equipment.
