Estimated average water depth

This parameter is part of the newly defined UK National Protocol as part of CaSTCo. This description is preliminary and will be updated shortly.

Along with the estimated width, an estimate of average depth is useful. Again – don’t worry about being too precise – any estimation is better than none. Remember not to record the maximum depth, but rather a judgement that reflects an average between the deeper and shallower sections.
