Observations

  • 27 March 2021

Manning Road pond. by Mark Hersey

Drop in pH and alkalinity likely due to heavy rain the previous day.

  • 27 March 2021

    Whitby Shore by Mark Hersey

Ammonia was less than detectable, estimated < 0.1 mg/kg

  • 27 March 2021

Manning Road overpass. by Mark Hersey

Drop in pH and alkalinity likely caused by heavy rain the previous day.

  • 17 March 2021

Manning Road overpass. by Mark Hersey

Sample point is sheltered and shady, which accounts for the lower air temperature compared to the other two sample points on Pringle Creek.

  • 17 March 2021

Manning Road pond. by Mark Hersey

Conductivity in the pond being slightly higher than in the creek is expected due to the still water in the pond. It will be interesting to see how the conductivity in the pond compares to the conductivity in the creek as the spring progresses.,

  • 17 March 2021

Bradley Drive overpass by Mark Hersey

Water was quite clear at time of sample. Sample point is in an urban environment so high conductivity may be due to road salt having been washed in with storm water runoff. If so, conductivity should progressively drop as the spring progresses.

  • 15 March 2021

Pringle Creek storm water drainage by Mark Hersey

The beaver dam has been present for at least 1 year, but is bigger this year than last year.
