The water level is quite a bit lower than average. We also noticed a buildup of algae near the stream at the shore as well as a layer of vegetation/pollen close to shore on the surface of the water.

Sunny/cloudy mix today with a light wind. Water was calm. Cold temperatures still at about the same level as yesterday. Observed a few red wing blackbirds and squirrels in the trees near the shore that were quite active. No fish yet. Water was very murky and the secchi depth was likely only just deeper than the depth of the water.

The surface of the water was covered in a thin layer of pollen. We observed and heard a green frog, a pileated woodpecker, a rock bass and a few sunfish. Something of note was the 0.5 chlorine reading. we tested this with a few different test strips, in slightly different locations and got the 0.5 reading each time. What could be causing this?
