    Big Rideau Lake off of Campbell St by Ann White

    Water brown, muddy, smell of gas and gas film on the water. Two 2-inch minnows near the surface. Redwing blackbirds in bullrushes across the channel. The resident informed me that seaweed removal boat had cleaned the channel out of algae and weeds which was almost grown over. They made about three passes up and down the channel to complete the task, he said. Now there is a clear channel from the dock location where the test was done out to the water area by the Bayview marina.

    Len's Cove Marina, Portland, on the Big Rideau by Ann White

    The water had a lot of suspended dirt, mud and the bottom of the lake was not visible at the end of the dock. It was clearer near shore. The dock that was used as a test location in the past has been replaced with the new one in the picture. At the testing location near the seniors home, I learned that parts of Portland harbour had a weed removal procedure the week before. This area may have been cleared out. A boat arrived at the new gas pump location across from test location.
