A significant part of this project relates to citizen science including water quality monitoring, Riverfly. FORA is a leading a project to set up citizen science to monitor riparian mammals. FORA also supports Duke of Edinburgh students to complete the volunteer element of their Award through citizen science methodologies. FORA supports other community groups within the Axe Vale get started with water quality monitoring such as the recently formed group in the upper headwaters. Under the umbrella of FORA Axe Vale Riverfly operates across the catchment, and is expanding rapidly.
