A great blue heron flying north over the creek. You can clearly see its reflection and see the bird itself with close inspection. The bridge had large patches of ice under the snow.\r\n\r\nThe trail was getting less use than at other times, but I saw horseshoe prints in the snow, and a jogger and a cyclist passed me on the bridge. A walker asked if I was fishing, so I told him about the program. We chatted a while, and he turned out to be the chairman of the Friends of the Great Western Trail and gave me a flyer for their annual trail cleanup
