Aside from the dam removal there is a large project to remove invasive species that have overrun the forest preserve. Large areas have been cleared and burned, and will be replanted with native species. I do wonder about runoff and erosion, but seems ok. \r\n\r\nBecause Salt Creek has been been finding its new path with the dam removal, the shore is very muddy and not easy to access. I have found a spot near my previous sampling spot that I can easily use a \"cup toss\" method to get samples.
