A painted turtle was basking on a log.  A snail in a large shell (5 cm) was at in the shallow water at the shore.  Many birds present:  Hooded Mergansers, Gulls, Canada Geese, Sandpipers.  The sandy stretches attract a variety of birds.  There were some birdwatchers there that came expressly for this particular site.  \r\nWater is brown.  There are no odours.  There is some sediment suspended in the water.  Shoreline is sloped less than 30 degrees.  Bank vegetation is shrubs-saplings.
