Note: recent addition of minor salt to reduce icy conditions on observation platforms may have affected local conductivity and alkalinity, Note: some difficulty encountered in interpreting color of Taylor strip for hardness. Past observations tended to have values of "0" with today's strip color leaning toward a light purple rather than blue, so estimate of 150 for hardness value, which is suspect. Moderate amount of waterfowl on lagoon, including American coots, mallards, gadwalls, American widgeons and Pied-billed grebes. Small number of songbirds including American robins, Black-capped chickadees, Dark-eyed-juncos, Spotted Towhee, and Song sparrow.
