Location description
Nestled in Port Robinson, the City of Thorold’s ferry, “Bridge-it,” is the sole ferry service operating on the Welland Canal. This accessible ferry has been transporting passengers across the canal since the 1970s, following the destruction of the bridge to the hamlet by a laker collision. Running annually from May to October, the ferry serves as a crucial connection for an increasing number of cyclists. It also offers a unique and delightful highlight for those exploring Niagara’s cycling trails. Managed by the City of Thorold with support from Niagara Region, the service has become a cherished part of the community.
