Location description
Ubicado aguas arriba de la localidad de Jiquilpan, se encuentra en uno de los cauces principales del Río Tuxcacuesco, proveniente de la meseta de Tapalpa. La descarga de la presa “El Nogal” llega a este sitio, con descargas de aguas residuales de la localidad de Tapalpa y los desarrollos turísticos y habitacionales de la meseta, así como aguas de retorno agrícola de los campos de papa, berries y aguacate, hacen de este un cuerpo de agua susceptible a las contingencias ambientales. Un dato curioso es que solo en este arroyo se ha registrado la presencia de algas filamentosas a lo largo del río.
