was ice on about half way across the creek. But temps have been above freezing for several days, with today's temperature in the 50s. Also a lot of rain earlier in the day, so ice had been melting and was completely gone in other nearby stretches of the creek. Steam observed coming off of the creek. I took the sample near the bank of the creek in a small area of water bordering the ice (see pictures).
