Location description
Ubicado en el municipio de Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, en el límite con el municipio de Tuxcacuesco, está sobre un importante afluente de agua del río Ayuquila proveniente de la Sierra de Manantlán. Debido a que su cuenca se encuentra prácticamente deshabitada, es un sitio importante como referencia ecológica. Se encuentra dentro de la Reserva de la Biosfera Sierra de Manantlán, una importante Área Natural Protegida (ANP) del occidente de México. Debido a su belleza natural, aguas poco profundas (aunque existen zonas con aguas profundas) y dinámicas (la mayor parte del tiempo se encuentran en movimiento) varios parajes del arroyo son utilizados como áreas recreativas por pobladores locales, y además como sitio de pesca.
