Location description
The Alveston Weir location access is subject to the land owners permission. The sampling site is downstream of a Severn Trent Combined Sewer Outlet (Sewage Treatment plant and surface waste water run-off). It is also downstream of an industrial scale intensive salad leaf grower and lastly, downstream of the two weir flows combining. In the previous 12 month period March 2024 to March 2025, there was the equivalent of 5.5 months continuous discharge of untreated sewage from our nearest CSO.
